I finished week 1 of P90X. It was rough. Yoga was hilarious (thankfully no one else saw it) but it kicked my tail hard. It does feel good to be in a workout routine now. The value to the program for me, is it tells me what to do and when. That has been the huge missing link for me and an exercise program. Have a plan!
My brother, Bruce, is training as well. I’m really excited about being able to do this together. It’s the first activity we would have done as brothers since I left for college in 1996 (besides vacations, dinners the usual stuff).
Another thing I did this time around was start my routine on a Friday. That way i was in the middle of things on the weekend and Monday wasn’t a start over time but just the next day in the schedule. Again, mental is a huge part of it. Waking up at 5.30 a.m. is rough but I have to remind myself why I’m doing this…
Why am I doing Tough Mudder? Not sure where I should start…
Mostly…I need a lifestyle change and I’m hoping this will motivate me toward that.
So I’ve decided to start training to complete a Tough Mudder this September in Kansas City. I’m going to journal my journey here.

So for the last few months on ESPN radio I have heard a JC Penny ad that starts “we know you hate commercials about close so let’s just plow right through this”
My problem is this: If they know I hate them why do they still insist on making me listen to them???
